The Loud Cry

•June 16, 2009 • 1 Comment

How does the fourth angel relate to the third angel?

The message of the Third Angel is renforced by the Forth Angel, making this message know to the entire world.

Then will the message of the third angel swell to a loud cry, and the whole earth will be lightened with the glory of the Lord.–Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 401. (1900) {Ev 693.2}

Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to earth, and unite his voice with the third angel, and give power and force to his message… The work of this angel comes in at the right time, and joins in the last great work of the third angel’s message, as it swells into a loud cry. And the people of God are fitted up every where to stand in the hour of temptation which they are soon to meet. I saw a great light resting upon them, and they united in the message, and fearlessly proclaimed with great power the third angel’s message. {1SG 193.2}

What are the two parts to the Loud Cry?

“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” Is the first part and the second is, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

In the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel’s message is, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And in the loud cry of the third angel’s message a voice is heard from heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. – {Mar 189.1}

What are the two parts to the final warning?

“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues; for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Is the First Part, and the second is, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

In the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel’s message is, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” And in the loud cry of the third angel’s message a voice is heard from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” {Mar 189.1}

These announcements, uniting with the third angel’s message, constitute the final warning to be given to the inhabitants of the earth. {GC 604.1}

What is the difference between “Babylon is fallen” in the second angel’s message of Revelation 14, as given in the summer of 1844, and “Babylon is fallen” in the Loud Cry of Revelation 18?

The Loud Cry of “Babylon is fallen” means that the sins of Babylon have reached heaven, meaning the enforcement of a national Sunday law, whereas in 1844 they preached “Babylon is fallen”, but not in the context of a national Sunday Law

“Her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:5

When do her sins reach unto heaven [Rev. 18:2-5]? When the law of God is finally made void by legislation.–ST June 12, 1893.  {LDE 198.5}

Babylon is become: “the habitation of devils,” “the hold of every foul spirit,” “and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”  Explain each of these elements.

“The habitation of devils”: The church has become full of spiritualism and is under the control of an evil spirit.

“The hold of every foul spirit”: Actual people that are under the control of Satan.

“A cage of every unclean and hateful bird”: This cage of birds represents the people that have chosen to reject the call to come out of their apostatized / apostatizing church.

“A belief in spiritual manifestations opens the door to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, and thus the influence of evil angels will be felt in the churches.” {GC 603.2}

List and explain the sins of Babylon, as stated in Revelation 18.

Babylon’s first sin -” For all the nations have fallen from the wine of her immoral passion”- Meaning that Babylon has gotten the whole world to accept her doctrines and to deny the Law of God.

Babylon’s Second sin – “he kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her” – Babylon has joined church with state and has denied the power of God and instead has relied on the power of men.

Babylon’s Third sin – “the merchants of the earth have gotten rich from the power of her sensual behaviour” – Babylon has become a union of church and state, as she was during the Medieval period.

Babylon’s Second sin – ”

“The wine of Babylon is the exalting of the false and spurious Sabbath above the Sabbath which the Lord Jehovah hath blessed and sanctified for the use of man, also [it is] the immortality of the soul. These kindred heresies, and the rejection of the truth, convert the church into Babylon. Kings, merchants, rulers, and religious teachers are all in corrupt harmony.” {2SM 68.2}

“These and kindred errors are presented to the world by the various churches, and thus the Scriptures are fulfilled that say, ‘For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’ It is a wrath which is created by false doctrines, and when kings and presidents drink this wine of the wrath of her fornication, they are stirred with anger against those who will not come into harmony with the false and satanic heresies which exalt the false sabbath, and lead men to trample underfoot God’s memorial.”  {TM 61.3}

“But the man of sin, exalting himself above God, sitting in the temple of God, and showing himself to be God, thought to change times and laws. This power, thinking to prove that it was not only equal to God, but above God, changed the rest day, placing the first day of the week where the seventh should be. And the Protestant world has taken this child of the papacy to be regarded as sacred. In the Word of God this is called her fornication.” {7BC 979.7}

When does Babylon’s sins reach unto heaven?

When the national Sunday law is passed.

When do her sins reach unto heaven [Rev. 18:2-5]? When the law of God is finally made void by legislation.–ST June 12, 1893.  {LDE 198.5}

Why does Revelation 18 say that Babylon receives the plagues?

It’s time for Babylon to “reap what” she “has sown”.

“For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” (Rev. 18:4, 5)

If you are honestly serving God, what difference does it make which church you belong to?

Several Churches are a part of Babylon and those remaining in these Churches will be made to share in their sins which would cause you to share in their punishment as well.

Why are there only two distinct calls made to the churches?

Babylon is fallen, is given twice as two distinct calls. First time was in 1844 but at that time the iniquity of the church did not reach yet unto heaven. However, when the second time, the iniquity almost reaches heaven, and when it does reach, the plagues will torment those who have mark of the beast. So, the first call was given to alert people’s minds, and the second call was given to tell people, the sins of her church is almost reaching unto heaven.

In the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel’s message is, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” And in the loud cry of the third angel’s message a voice is heard from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” {Mar 189.1}

When is the Loud Cry suppose to be given?

Right now, at this very moment!

“The message of the angel following the third is now to be given to all parts of the world. It is to be the harvest message.” –Letter 86, 1900.  {LDE 208.1}

What is it that gives power to the Loud voice [Cry]?

The latter rain gives power.

“The commencement of that time of trouble,” here mentioned does not refer to the time when the plagues shall begin to be poured out, but to a short period just before they are poured out, while Christ is in the sanctuary. At that time, while the work of salvation is closing, trouble will be coming on the earth, and the nations will be angry, yet held in check so as not to prevent the work of the third angel. At that time the “latter rain,” or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in the period when the seven last plagues shall be poured out. {EW 85.3}

The Third Angel’s Message

•June 16, 2009 • 2 Comments

What is the core content of the third angel’s message?
Mediation of Christ and perpetuity of the law of God
Those who had accepted the light concerning the mediation of Christ and the perpetuity of the law of God, found that these were the truths brought to view in the third message. {4SP 275.2}

When did Jesus send the third angel’s message?
Jesus sent the third message after he entered the Most Holy Place, which was after the 2300 days ended on October 22, 1844.
“When Christ entered the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to perform the closing work of the atonement, he committed to his servants the last message of mercy to be given to the world. Such is the warning of the third angel of Revelation 14.” {4SP 273.1} “As foretold in the Scriptures, the ministration of Christ in the most holy place began at the termination of the prophetic days in 1844. To this time apply the words of the Revelator, “The temple of God was opened in Heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament.” [REV. 11:19] The ark of God’s testament is in the second apartment of the sanctuary. As Christ entered there, to minister in the sinner’s behalf, the inner temple was opened, and the ark of God was brought to view.“  {4SP 273.2}

How did the third angel light up the past, the present, and the future to the early advent believers after the passing of the time in 1844?
The third angel built upon what had already been proclaimed. The angel that following the third is now proclaiming it’s message to all parts of the world.
The message of the second angel’s message is repeated to the world by that other angel who lightens the earth with his glory. These messages all blend in one, to come before the people in the closing days of this earth’s history. {2SM 116.2} These messages are all related. It is a message with three parts. They are known as three because of the order of their rise. Once they are all risen, however, they are one.

Why does the evangelical Christian world not accept the truth of Christ’s change of ministration from the holy place to the most holy place in 1844?
 Because it requires them to acknowledge God’s Law as still valid, thus requiring them to keep the Sabbath. So rather than accepting the Sabbath, they choose not to accept the fact that Christ’s place of ministration has changed.
None could fail to see that if the earthly sanctuary was a figure or pattern of the heavenly, the law deposited in the ark on earth was an exact transcript of the law in the ark in Heaven, and that an acceptance of the truth concerning the heavenly sanctuary involved an acknowledgment of the claims of God’s law, and the obligation of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. Here was the secret of the bitter and determined opposition to the harmonious exposition of the Scriptures that brought to view the ministration of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary. How hard men tried to close the door which God had opened, and to open the door which he had closed! But “He that openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth and no man openeth,” had declared, “Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.” [REV. 3:7, 8.] Christ had opened the door, or ministration, of the most holy place, light was shining from that open door of the sanctuary in Heaven, and the fourth commandment was shown to be included in the law within the ark; what God had established, no man could overthrow.  {4SP 275.1}

How is the message of justification by faith the third angel’s message?
It is impossible for us to survive the judgment with out having Christ as out mediator. In the judgment, Christ displays his perfect character, instead of ours, to be judged. We must simply believe and follow Him .
“This message…presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ…All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the helpless human agent.”[Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 91-93. (1896) {Ev 190.4}]

What is the purpose of the numbering system for the angels’ messages of Revelation 14?
To lead people to have gradual progression of truth leading them from the Holy place into the Most Holy Place.
Many saw the perfect chain of truth in the angels’ messages, and gladly received them in their order, and followed Jesus by faith into the heavenly sanctuary. {EW 256.2}

How do the first, second, and third angels’ messages all blend into one?
The first message announces the Investigative Judgment (which happens in the Most Holy Place).  The second message proclaims the fall of the churches after they rejected the first message.  And the essence of third message is Christ’s move into the Most Holy Place and the perpetuity of the Law.  Therefore, the messages blend into one, in that they all have something to do with what is happening in and from the Most Holy Place.

How can you show that the mediation of Christ and the perpetuity of the law of God are the truths of the third angel’s message?
The common thread through the three messages is the Most Holy Place; so it can be understood that the third message would be on this subject also.  However, the Most Holy Place has little significance by itself; it is an important place because Christ has gone there to perform the final atonement.  It because of our faith in Christ’s ministration in the Most Holy Place that we will have the “patience” to endure trials and the terrible wrath of God that will come upon the wicked.  “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Rev. 14:12  Now, the above verse says that the saints keep the commandments, showing that God’s Law is still valid and must still be kept.  We can know that we are to keep all the commandments (including the fourth) because the majority of the  third angel’s message warns the world of the consequences of disregarding God’s Sabbath and receiving the mark of the beast, which is Sunday worship.

Where is the “here” in Revelation 14:12: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God” “and their faith in Jesus.”?
The prophet John was shown in a vision the people  that were  represented by the five wise virgins. These people had accepted the third angel’s message.  This message is the most fearsome that has ever been uttered. It warns God’s people to be careful. They must constantly watching out lest they stumble. “They will be brought into close contact with the beast and his image.” If they they are faithful, if they remain steadfast, of they keep their gaze fixed in Jesus then they have the assurance of eternal life. their lives are now at stake, but they must have patience. If they are patient in enduring the trials and keeping the commandments of God then they will find that their persistence will finally pay off. They find that the price was cheap enough.

What is the “action step[s]” for the third angel’s message?

Enter the Most Holy Place with Jesus to prepare for the upcoming Marriage and put up a guard and pray that Jesus will help you to be ready for Marriage because, if Jesus does not cover you in marriage, you are with Satan.
But the third angel was pointing them to the most holy place, and those who had had an experience in the past messages were pointing them the way to the heavenly sanctuary. Many saw the perfect chain of truth in the angels’ messages, and gladly received them in their order, and followed Jesus by faith into the heavenly sanctuary.{EW 256.2}
This message was designed to put the children of God upon their guard, by showing them the hour of temptation and anguish that was before them{EW 254.1}

What are the two purposes for the warning against the beast and his image contained in the third message?
All may know why they are to be inflicted, and have opportunity to escape them. Also to put children of God on guard, by showing them the hour of temptation and anguish that was before them
As the ministration of Jesus closed in the holy place, and He passed into the holiest, and stood before the ark containing the law of God, He sent another mighty angel with a third message to the world. A parchment was placed in the angel’s hand, and as he descended to the earth in power and majesty, he proclaimed a fearful warning, with the most terrible threatening ever borne to man. This message was designed to put the children of God upon their guard, by showing them the hour of temptation and anguish that was before them {EW 254.1}
The most fearful threatening ever addressed to mortals is contained in the third angel’s message. That must be a terrible sin which calls down the wrath of God unmingled with mercy. Men are not to be left in darkness concerning this important matter; the warning against this sin is to be given to the world before the visitation of God’s judgments, that all may know why they are to be inflicted, and have opportunity to escape them…   The warning of the third angel…   will command the attention of the world. {GC 449.2}
What does it mean to receive the mark of the beast?
Receiving the mark of the beast means that you have gone directly against the laws that God has laid out out for us. Making the same choices as the beast and promoting the same day of worship that beast does.

What is “the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation”?
The seven last plagues are the “wine of the wrath of God” poured out upon the wicked, once probation is closed and God has withdrawn His protective mercy from the earth.
“When Christ ceases His intercession in the sanctuary, the unmingled wrath threatened against those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark (Revelation 14:9, 10), will be poured out. The plagues upon Egypt when God was about to deliver Israel were similar in character to those more terrible and extensive judgments which are to fall upon the world just before the final deliverance of God’s people.”   {GC 627.3} “These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off. Yet they will be the most awful scourges that have ever been known to mortals. All the judgments upon men, prior to the close of probation, have been mingled with mercy. The pleading blood of Christ has shielded the sinner from receiving the full measure of his guilt; but in the final judgment, wrath is poured out unmixed with mercy.” {GC 628.2}

How are those who receive the mark of the beast “tormented with fire and brimstone” … ?
Probation has closed and they can no longer accept the mercy and love that they refused. Thus they must suffer the consequences. They must die the Second Death.

What does it mean that “the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever”?
This is a picture of sin and the eternal consequences it results in. Jude 7 says that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are “suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” however, these cities are not still burning. This fire and smoke represent the extinction of sin eternally.

The Second Angel’s Message

•May 20, 2009 • 3 Comments

When was the second angel’s message given?

“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city.” That message was first proclaimed by the servants of God in the summer of 1844. As a result, many left the fallen churches.{1T 53}
The second angel’s message was given in the summer of 1844.

Who did the second angel’s message have a more direct application to?

The second angel’s message of Revelation 14 was first preached in the summer of 1844, and it then had a more direct application to the churches of the United States, where the warning of the judgment had been most widely proclaimed and most generally rejected, and where the declension in the churches had been most rapid. {Mar 171.1}
The churches in the Unites States.

Why was the second angel’s message given?

Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of rejecting the threefold warning of Revelation 14:6-12, the church will have fully reached the condition foretold by the second angel, and the people of God still in Babylon will be called upon to separate from her communion. {GC 390.2
To call the people that are still in the world (Babylon) to leave and reject the world, and the things thereof.

What were the consequences to the churches when they rejected the first angel’s message?

This message was understood by Adventists to be an announcement of the moral fall of the churches in consequence of their rejection of the first message. The proclamation, “Babylon is fallen,” was given in the summer of 1844, and as the result, about fifty thousand withdrew from these churches.  {4SP 232.1}
The decline in the moral standards of the church in which the first angel’s message was rejected.

What is the “action step” of the second angel’s message?

Near the close of the second angel’s message,  I saw a great light from heaven shining upon the people of God. The rays of this light seemed bright as the sun. And I heard the voices of angels crying, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!”  {EW 238.1}
The midnight cry is what gave the second angel’s message it’s power.

When was the climactic closing up of the second angel’s message?

Near the close of the second angel’s message, I saw a great light from heaven shining upon the people of God. The rays of this light seemed bright as the sun. And I heard the voices of angels crying, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!”{EW 328}
The midnight cry is the climax of the second angel’s message.

What was the Midnight Cry?

Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him – Matt. 25:6

When was the Midnight Cry given?

Towards the end of the second angel’s message.

What was the purpose of the Midnight Cry?

Those entrusted with the cry made haste, and in the power of the Holy Spirit sounded the message, and aroused their discouraged brethren. This work did not stand in the wisdom and learning of men, but in the power of God, and His saints who heard the cry could not resist it. The most spiritual received this message first, and those who had formerly led in the work were the last to receive and help swell the cry, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!” {EW 238.2}.
To awaken those in the church who had become discouraged and encourage them.

For those who had received the first angel’s message, how did the Midnight Cry prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary?

When Jesus began His public ministry, He cleansed the temple from its sacrilegious profanation. Among the last acts of His ministry was the second cleansing of the temple. So in the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel’s message is, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” And in the loud cry of the third angel’s message a voice is heard from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities” (RH Dec. 6, 1892). {7BC 985.5}

Only two calls are needed because the first call states that Babylon is fallen (the problem) and the second is the solution. Leaving Babylon means leaving the world and all that it offers, and instead choosing God and His everlasting love.

The First Angel’s Message

•May 13, 2009 • 3 Comments

Who gives the first angel’s message?

God’s people; the ones who accept the light and take it to the world. These three angels represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages, and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. (ST, January 25, 1910 par. 5)

When was the first angel’s message first given?

I saw that God was in the proclamation of the time in 1843. It was His design to arouse the people and bring them to a testing point, where they should decide for or against the truth…even some professional men were compelled to leave their professions to engage in the unpopular work of giving the first angel’s message. {EW 232.2}

Where did the prophecy of the first angel’s message have its most direct fulfillment?

To William Miller and his co-laborers it was given to preach the warning in America. This country became the center of the great advent movement. It was here that the prophecy of the first angel’s message had its most direct fulfillment. {GC 368.1}

Why was the first angel’s message given?

The first angels message was there to show us what we are to do, so that we won’t be separated from God and because the principles of the churches had become corrupted and they had become worldly.
The first angel’s message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God’s judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding. In this message, God has sent to the church a warning, which, had it been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him. {GC 379.1}

How is the first angel’s message announcing “the hour of His judgment is come,” a part of the gospel?

While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {GC 425.1}

What were the consequences to the churches when they rejected the first angel’s message?

All who saw the light of the first and second angels’ messages and rejected that light, were left in darkness. {1SM 63.9}

How does the first angel’s message influence the second angel’s message?

The second angel’s message of Revelation 14 was first preached in the summer of 1844, and it then had a more direct application to the churches of the United States, where the warning of the judgment had been most widely proclaimed and most generally rejected, and where the declension in the churches had been most rapid.{GC 389}

How is the first angel’s message still relevant today?

The first angel’s message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God’s judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding. In this message, God has sent to the church a warning, which, had it been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him. {GC 379.1}

We still have not finished what we were first told to do.

What is the “action step” for the first angel’s message?

That men may be prepared to stand in the judgment, the message commands them to “fear God, and give glory to Him,” “and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”The result of an acceptance of these messages is given in the word: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” In order to be prepared for the judgment, it is necessary that men should keep the law of God. That law will be the standard of character in the judgment. {GC 435.2}

How does the first angel’s message, as it was perceived during the advent movement of 1840-1844, fit together with the actual content of the first angel’s message?

The first message is to be repeated proclaiming the second advent of Christ to our world. {16MR 40.2}

WHILE WE UNDERSTAND CLEARLY THAT THE MESSAGES OF THE FIRST AND SECOND AND THIRD ANGELS ARE MESSAGES THAT HAVE THEIR APPLICATION TODAY, WE RECOGNIZE ALSO THAT IN THEIR INITIAL PROCLAMATION THE SOUNDING OF THE FIRST ANGEL’S MESSAGE WITH ITS DECLARATION THAT “THE HOUR OF GOD’S JUDGMENT IS COME” IS LINKED WITH THE PROCLAMATION OF THE EXPECTED ADVENT OF CHRIST IN THE 1830′S AND EARLY 1840′S. {EW 304.1}

This book takes place or is set in the Most Holy Place. It covers the judgement, marriage, and the second coming. The events in this book are referring to the last days as well as the time of the advent movement, which occurred between 1840-1844.

The sealed book of Daniel is referring to the portion of the prophecies that are for the last days. The unsealed book is the book of Revelation. This book has been unsealed since 1798, because the prophecies has not yet been fulfilled. From 1840 through 1844 up until present time the three angels message was being fulfilled and now it is ready to be preached. Seeing that we are in the final stages of the plan of redemption, the judgement is soon to come. Until the time of the end (1798) the book is shut up and, at the judgement, the book shall be opened.

The little book can only be opened by those who are worthy. There is only one who is truly worthy and His name is Jesus Christ. He is the one holding the little book and standing between the seat and the earth. (Rev. 10) Jesus is the only one who is worthy to open the book because He is the one who died of the cross for our sins. He is the redeemer. This book contains the records of our life, which will be opened and examined at the judgement.

As the book is unsealed, the three angel’s messages are being fulfilled. Our reactions to the angel’s
messages are what is written down in the book. These messages, when believed and acted on, will prepare us for the time of trouble. The decisions and attitudes that people have toward Christ are written down in this book. This is why it is important for us to listen to God’s still small voice leading us.

In 1844, a door in heaven was opened. From 1840 – 1844 the judgement began. The fulfilment of the three angels message as well as the advent movement began. During this time the first angle’s message was proclaimed. This message was misunderstood, thus resulting in the great disappointment, in 1844 Jesus moved from the holy place into the most holy place. People misunderstood this time to be the second coming. Afterwards the second angel’s message was proclaimed. And now we are to be proclaiming the third angel’s message to the entire world.
If our hearts are not right with God we will not be able to stand in the time of trouble. This entire message revolves around this principle. “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord”. This is Joshua’s choice. What will our choice be?

Character (The Marrige pt.4)

•February 17, 2009 • 2 Comments

The Law of God requires that our characters be perfect. This poses a slight problem, seeing as we are all born with a , defective, sinful character. This means that we won’t have perfect characters when Christ comes at the second coming. Our human nature, nature being the same as our character, is naturally inclined towards sinful acts and thoughts. This being the case we must some how, either on our own or by some other means, have our characters be made perfect. This is where the marriage comes into play.
Thoughts and feelings are what make up our character, meaning that our thoughts and feelings must be changed.   “The mental and moral powers which God has given us do not constitute character. They are talents, which we are to improve, and which, if properly improved, will form a right character.”  {4T 606.2}  God has given us the power of choice and reason. This ability is not what shapes our character, it is one of the tools given us to help mold out character. Another tool that God has given us is the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sinful tenancies and to help us overcome them. “Education, culture, the exercise of the will, human effort, all have their proper sphere, but here they are powerless. They may produce an outward correctness of behavior, but they cannot change the heart; they cannot purify the springs of life. There must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness.”  {SC 18,19} No matter what we our selves to we cannot overcome our human tendencies, we can try to reduce the amount of sinful acts we commit. To overcome our human tendencies we must have them changed. The only way that this can happen is to have God enter our hearts, thus changing our human nature into a perfect one, and since nature and character are in effect to same thing, our character is actually changed. Making us able to pass the judgement at the second coming.

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.” – Dan.9:25

The 2300 day prophecy begins at the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, completed in 457 BC under the decree of King Artaxerxes. This decree began in the fall meaning that the prophecy began in the fall of 457 BC. “Reckoning from the autumn of 457, the 2300 years terminate in the autumn of 1844.”  {GC 398.4} Since days equal years in prophecy we add 457 BC and 2300 years together and subtract 1 because there is no year 0 between the year 1 BC and the year AD 1, it does bring us to AD 1844. Since this time Jesus has been cleansing the sanctuary in heaven, meaning that we have been living in the judgement.

Dan. 8

Dan. 8:10,11
The host mentioned here is God’s people, and the prince of the host is Jesus. Those that follow Satan are known as “wandering stars”. The papacy, represented by the little horn power, is stamping on the starry host, representing the the turning away of people from Christ, which destroys the connection between their source of spiritual growth.

Verse 12
“….an host was given him against the daily…” The papacy is against the daily, because it removes the need for Christ’s mediation and thus the confession of sins. Those who believe this are trying to be saved through works and not by grace, they also try to survive the judgement without letting go of their sins.

Verse 13
The Daily and the transgression of desolation are the main topics in the prophecy of the 2300 days.
Daily mediation consists of two alters in Heaven, one for burnt offerings and the other is for the burning of incense. The altar of burnt offering represents the Christ’s substitution by death, and the altar of incense represents the substitutionary life that he lived.
“Transgression of desolation” refers to our inherited sinful human nature, which we received from Adam due to his sin, the sin of self-exaltation. Through this sin death and desolation were brought into existence, This is how our human nature became corrupted.
When we give into temptation and commit sin, we make a small pathway in our hearts. The more we yield to the temptation the harder the path becomes because it has so much traffic on it. This in turn makes it easier and easier to commit the same sin.

Verse 14
When the sanctuary is cleansed, all the sins that have been accumulated during the time of Christ’s mediation are removed.

Verse 23
This verse refers to a transgressor, which is the pope. Who, when his power is fully realized, will enact the Sunday law, claiming that he has the power to change God’s day of worship.

Verse 25
Just as the image of Dan. 2 was broken with out hands, so shall the little horn be broken. God’s law is the standard at the judgement. It is this law that will destroy the papacy, this law that was written with the very finger of God.

Dan. 7

Dan. 7:8 The little horn, representing the papacy, rises up among 10 other horns. This refers to the 10 tribes of Western Europe, which is where the papacy originated. This verse also states that the little horn has eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. The eyes represent a conscience and therefore a human power, because only man has an actual conscience. The mouth, which speaks many great things against the Most High, representing the blasphemous claims that the pope makes about his so called power, supposedly given to him by God, including the power to control the consciences of believers.

7:10 The Father and the son are both present at this judgement, In which there is a fiery stream that issues out from before God, representing the Holy Spirit who is as a consuming fire to all sins.

7:11 Until the end of the world, the little horn will continue to work its iniquity, but then at Jesus’ second coming it will be destroyed by the consuming glory of Christ.

7:12 The beasts had there dominion taken away, but their lives were prolonged. These beast, which represent nations, had their power taken away from them, but the people in these nations were allowed to live. When Jesus comes this time, the little horn along with all those loyal to him will be destroyed.

7:17 These beasts are the four greatest world empires that have ruled the earth. The fourth kingdom will last until the second coming of Christ, when the kingdom of Glory will be set up as the the final kingdom for all time.

7:24 “He shall subdue three kings …” There were three kingdoms that belonged to the ten kingdoms that arose. These three were followers of Arianism, this was the main rival of Catholicism. These three kingdoms were eventually conquered as Catholicism expanded all throughout Europe.

7:25 The little horn has power for a time, times and half a time. This equals 3 ½ prophetic years,and each year equals 360 prophetic days, and since each day equals an actual solar year, the total amount of
time comes to 1260 years. The little horn uses his power to try to change God’s times and laws, this is how he exalts him self above God.

7:26 The papacy is Satan’s visible representative on this earth. The judgement will take away the little horn’s dominion, and since the little horn represents the papacy, this judgement will in effect take away Satan’s dominion.

7:27 “All dominions shall serve Him” This refers to the second coming of Christ which is when the kingdom of Glory will come and Satan’s dominion will be destroyed, ending the great controversy.
